Some pretty funny comedy shows have spawned from the north, but the Canadians haven't been as successful with web series... until now. Nirvana The Band The Show is absurd, but that's part of its charm as an odd duo set out to make it famous as a 2-man variety act that has absolutely nothing to do with the actual Nirvana. Reminiscent of TV's early sitcom days with a straight man (Jay) and a total buffoon (Matt), it'll grow on you. Sort of like Canadian bacon. And Tom Green. view

We've all played this game... you know the one you play when you ask your friends what they'd rather do in a particular situation? Crackle has delivered that game to the web in the form of a hilarious comedy series called "Decisions, Decisions." Chances are, when you play, you don't put quite as much thought into your answers, but I think you'll find that the game gets a lot more fun if you do... especially if you visualize the scenarios like they do in this show. view

All nerdy one-time high school debaters, such as myself, will find this hilarious, as the tropes of freestyle rap braggadacio are put down in plain English. Notwithstanding the disturbing ending, this is a clever little piece (and the overly dry narration reminds me of the unbridled excitement of Vermont public television). view

Advertising is hot right now - especially with the debonair Don Draper at the creative helm in 'Mad Men'. But he may have a run for his money with Rick Shanz, agency hot shot from the new web series 'Brainstorm,' sponsored by Altoids. What Rick lacks in sauve and charm, he makes up for in irreverence and sheer ridiculousness as he sets out to prove that being a douchebag is as timeless as wing tip shoes. Bottom line, this is brand integration at its best with a fun storyline and one curiously strong cast of characters. view

Crazy puppets. Surreal animation. Kids saying the most insane things. It's like a kids show from another twisted dimension. The disclaimer at the beginning of each episode says it all: "Warning. Wonder Showzen contains offensive, despicable content that is too controversial and too awesome for actual children. The stark, ugly, profound truths Wonder Showzen exposes may be soul crushing to the weak of spirit. If you allow a child to watch this show, you are a bad parent or guardian." view

I've become a big fan of this new Canadian web series. It's got just the right amounts of suspense, sexiness and hilarious twists and turns. A great example of what can be done with not a lot of money and some really well written scripts. view

Be wary of those eBay purchases... This seven-part series tells the story of three teens who purchase a cursed trinket online known as "The Devil's Cross." Let's just say bloody mayhem ensues. This is a must watch for fans of creative team Ghost House's other high quality production, "The Grudge." Now hopefully this will teach you to stop shopping on those darn Satanic websites! view
