Daniel Suljick's animated short uses a striking technique where oil is painted on glass and then each frame is photographed by a 35-mm camera. The result has a simple, black & white sparseness and characters that move with weird liquidity. The story is a bit obvious, but I don't really mind because the people (all black shapes and sharp teeth) are so memorable. view
