Giving Up the Gun
Music (Music Videos)
[ 5:04 - from YouTube ]
It must be every guy's secret fantasy to don tube socks and Bjorn Borg shorts -- because somehow Vampire Weekend convinced Joe Jonas and Jake Gyllenhaal to improv as 70s tennis clowns in this new video for "Giving Up the Gun," what is sure to be a hit off their sophomore album "Contra." Adding to the surreality are Coach Lil' Jon and ref RZA from Wu-Tang Clan. Watching it, you may be puzzled, as if awaking from REM sleep. Let the lead singer explain: "'Giving Up the Gun' just means turning your back on aggression and selfishness," Ezra Koenig tells Spinner.com. "The heroine of the video isn't an amazing tennis player, but she has heart. She stays calm despite the unfairness of it all." And all the crazy celebrity co-stars. Aces, VW.
