Alan Wilder of Depeche Mode is the man behind Recoil, a musical collaboration that produced "Liquid," the 2000 album that includes this song. Featuring the Golden Gate Jubilee Quartet, it takes a traditional gospel song and turns it into a dark, rhythmic lament for a Biblical bad girl.
