This short, Kanojo to Kanojo no Neko (name in japanese) is a 1999 work by Makoto Shinkai, called the next Mikasaki. The black and white piece shows the relationship between a young girl and her cat and is told from the feline's point of view. This film is also a primer on a number of common stylistic techniques used in years past by other Japanese artists.
