Slim Suit Commercial
Comedy (Unintentionally Funny), Other Gems (Advertisements), Viral (Time Capsule)
[ 2:04 - from YouTube ]
No, this isn't a parody. Wrestlers make suits out of garbage bags and use them to sweat out water weight before a weigh-in. I guess the Slim Suit was thought to be the way to bring that unhealthy weight loss tactic to the masses. The "Slim Suit" commercial ran in the 80s and it apparently caught on. A few people in the YouTube comments mentioned that they came across a few Slim Suits in the wild at local garage sales.
