Yo Teach...!

It would take someone the size of Judd Apatow to pull this off. As part of the launch of July’s “Funny People” film with Universal, corporate cousin NBC has rolled out a fake sitcom online, “Yo Teach!” starring one of the film’s stars, Jason Schwartzman, who apparently plays a (cheesy, I wear my sunglasses inside) actor in the film. A riff on everything from “Welcome Back Kotter” to “That’s So Raven,” the clips of the faux-com are just realistic enough to make you wonder if it might actually show up on the network. (Schwartzman's bunny “hip hop" and reference to the baddest rapper of all time, Sha-Sha-Sha Shakespeare, should give it away...but maybe not.) The show even gets an EPK, a Facebook fan site, and DVD ordering info at the Universal’s store…but hmm, it’s already “sold out”?
