Here’s a band that can attest to the power of a web series – along with their own grassroots Internet movement – for their surging success. When Killola lead singer Lisa Rieffel starred in HUNG writer Lisa Robinson’s “Girltrash,” which also featured music from her alt rock band, the edgy online series sent droves of new fans to the band’s website to get free song downloads. Now Killola’s shared a stage with the New York Dolls and Berlin, and they're playing an even bigger part in “Girltrash” the movie. Check out their very imaginative video, directed by Hank Friedmann, which takes place “in an underwater fish-tank television network that broadcasts to other fish tanks all over the world.” Sounds like an idea for a web series...
