I'm not familiar with the eating habits of pelicans, but I never would have guessed that pigeon was their favorite menu item.  The visitors of St. James Park in London got an extra special treat when this hungry pelican snatched up a pigeon and swallowed it whole.  I guess bread crumbs just weren't cutting it.
