A 1987 classic from Pixar, the masters of the animated short. Even if the technology is a little primitive by today's standards, Pixar's penchant for story, character, and tone was exceptional even then. Especially cool for being one of the few cartoons without a happy ending. view

In this brilliant segment, faux journalist Jon Stewart packs a lot of punch (or, bitch slappin' as it were) into six minutes - from outlining the ACORN scandal, which is unfailing support for the fact that truth is stranger (and a whole lot scarier) than fiction to calling Fox out on improper use of a pun. Particularly enjoyable is Stewart taking professional reporters to task over the fact that the ACORN story was broken by a teen duo sportin' an outlandish pimp get up that makes Dennis Rodman look like the poster child for The Gap. It's a true see it to believe it moment, and though I'm not a big fan of Internet acronym speak, this video should definitely be filed under, 'OMG LOL WTF.' view

Everyone has seen those paintings of dogs playing poker, but I don’t think anyone ever believed they were actually playing. I’m not so sure after seeing this. This dog knows how to play pool! Granted, he’s not chalking up the cue, but he’s making shots I’m pretty sure I couldn’t make. My only question is if you bet him, do you bet him in money or dog biscuits? view

Written and starring Nate Golon & Kimberly Legg, "Workshop" centers around a few struggling actors (who, despite being attractive, can't get the break they need), the casting workshops they attend, and life on the periphery of Hollywood. Think Ricky Gervais' 'Extras' but from an LA point of view. There's some great subtle humor at play as we watch them deal with slimy agents and lunatic co-workers on the sets that they're lucky enough to get an extra role on. view
