To make this music video for Kareem Salama's "A Land Called Paradise", Lena Khan asked 2,000 American Muslims in December 2007 what they wished to say to the rest of the world. A sweet and moving retrospective where the subjects express their individuality in small ways - from the written cue cards of a young couple "not an arranged marriage" to friends laughing together. This video helps break down ethnic barriers and erase the stereotypes of what it means to be a Muslim American. My favorites: "I go visit my parents every weekend, even though they drive me insane" and "broccoli is my personal jihad".
