Body Image PSA

Docs & Non-Fiction (Cultural, Health)
[ 2:13 - from Vimeo ]

Did you know that if Barbie was a real person she'd be 7 feet tall and weight 100 pounds? That's what Vianca Lugo explores in this body image video -- and it's not just chicks who are impacted by bombardment of unrealistic images in the world - men deal with it too, and in fact, where as the average man weighs 179 pounds the average male super model is four inches taller and weighs 150 pounds. Pressure is pressure no matter the gender and Lugo sweetly gives us that in this piece. Oh and I'll leave you with one last Barbie stat - if she were indeed alive and around - all 7 feet of her - she'd have to walk on all fours to manage her obscenely exaggerated proportions. Not a cute image!
