In 1968, Soviet computer physicists and mathematicians created ASCII animations of cats. Before you go, "Eh, big whoop" ... we're talking about 1968. Pong didn't even appear until four years later. Not sure, though, why they didn't do a dancing Russian bear. Even then, it was all about the kittehs.
