Leonard Bernstein performs Beethoven's Ode to Joy - Finale
Music (Live)
[ 7:36 - from YouTube ]
Quick -- name a conductor, an orchestra conductor. Bet you said Leonard Bernstein. He's the best known, and for good reason. While researching Beethoven's symphonies for a project I came across several YouTube videos from the great composer's works, including this fantastic performance of the finale of Ode to Joy in the Ninth Symphony at the Vienna Philharmonic. Note how Bernstein jumps up a bit around 4:08 and is exhausted from his conducting workout by the end.
