Making of the Computer Graphics for Star Wars (Episode IV)

Docs & Non-Fiction (Art & Entertainment, Computers / Tech), Other Gems (Behind the Scenes)
[ 10:17 - from YouTube ]

Towards the end of Star Wars IV, there's a scene where a group of the rebel fighters are being briefed on how to blow up the Death Star. During the briefing, one of the first uses of computer-generated imagery on film is shown in the background. Although today it looks like cheesy wireframes, in 1977 it was absolutely state-of-the-art. In this clip, the creator of that CG work explains how his work was created.
