In a TV series you have a few episodes to establish a following, but web shows need to achieve that in the first three minutes, if not sooner. “We Need Girlfriends†nails it.

WEB THERAPY is a comedy series, created by Lexus's L/Studio, starring Lisa Kudrow from Friends. She is a self-absorbed shrink whose short sessions take place over web cameras. I thought they were funny for those who like their humor on the dry and dark side. Don Roos an industry vet, co-wrote with Lisa Kudrow and directed the series.

Revision3 is synonymous with Internet Television (it helps that it's their tagline!), so I'm not surprised they've jumped into the web series game with their first foray into scripted content. 'Web Zeroes,' an Office-style comedy, follows a cast of three dorky guys trying to become famous on the Internet. It's frothed with quick wit, likable characters and enough tech speak to to appeal to the geek set, including a well placed shout out to the unofficial tech god, Kevin Rose (who also just *happens* to have a show on Revision3).

Keep an eye on this show: When Ninjas Attack. It's performed well online and now studio backers from Fox Television Studios are pitching the Web show as a "Wipe-Out" style game show for TV. And, you know, watch your back. Ninjas are everywhere!

This is the premise of UK mockumentary “Where are the Joneses,†a 90-part mini-series that unfolded in 07 and 08. Viewers were encouraged to audition to be a sibling and contribute to the story, thereby ensuring they too were spreading their seed.

My compadre on The Unit, Scott Foley, has written and directed a series of webisodes about a wedding that threatens to go horribly awry. Funny, well acted and too biting for network TV this series really bears watching. As an added bonus it was filmed at The Sportsmen's Lodge in Studio City where my wife and I got married.
