Inside the White House: Letters to the President
Docs & Non-Fiction (Politics)
[ 5:54 - from Vimeo ]
The White House recieves over 65,000 paper letters and 100,000 emails per week; not to mention the 1,000 faxes and up to 3,500 calls per day. Since President Obama has been in office, he chooses to read 10 of these letters weekly, and responds to each with a hand-written note. This is a behind the scenes look at how the Office of Correspondence selects these 'Letters to the President', and how they are directly responsible for making sure the voice of the American people is heard by getting them in front of the man himself. Next time you think about writing a letter to the White House, do not hesitate, the President of the United States could become your new pen pal.
