NescafÃ© Gold Blend Commercials From the 1980s
Behold one of the first examples of modern day branded entertainment from the late 80s where Nescafé uses commercials to unfold a narrative around their Gold Blend coffee. Is it cheesy and heavy handed? Most definitely. It is an ad, after all. But it is largely regarded as one of the most successful campaigns that had viewers intently focused on ad spots to see what would happen next. And as a Gen X-er who grew up watching the likes of 'Dynasty' and 'Knots Landing,' I can tell you that this was quite riveting for the time!
