A curmudgeon unicorn named Charlie is persuaded to go on journeys to the elusive Candy Mountain, the temple of the Banana King, and the home of the Muffin Man. The magic of these shorts lies in watching an apathetic Charlie put up with his overly-caffeinated friends, dancing alphabets, and the promise of endless candy. Charlie the Unicorn will surely unite lovers and haters of unicorns.

Looks like WB.com is diving head first into some very funny waters with Children's Hospital, a new web series from Rob Cordry. This is the type of original content that I am hoping will soon flood the internet. Great production value, good actors and packed with attitude. I'm sure the series will offend some, but comedy isn't a pretty business.

This cool anime series is taken from a Japanese light novel series by Shūsuke Amagi, with manga adaptations drawn by Miyū. It's set in a contaminated world where humanity is forced to live inside isolated mobile cities called "Regios" because of the prevalence of mutated creatures known as "Limbeekoon." The show follows Layfon Alseif as he joins a military arts platoon and learns to fight the Limbeekoon. The show has a great look and is a lot of fun to watch.

Michael Cera has created his own brand of comedy, and he is definitely one of the people to watch as internet content gets bigger and better. Clark and Michael is a series that could be defined as the anti-Entourage. Watch Clark and Michael live the LA dream - they've got hope, they're broke, and they remind us of how hard it is to make it in the biz.

Physics isn't the friendliest of subjects, but these well-produced videos from PFILM will have you hooked. They follow a team studying the Higgs boson (a "God Particle" that the video explains far better than I could) as they experiment on the newly constructed Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland. It's a great series that makes high flying concepts understandable for you and me.

This gritty crime drama starts off with police captain Michael Madsen in a coma, and George Hamilton (the mayor) dealing with his key witness in taking down the mob now out of the picture. Watch as the inditement falls apart and the drama unfolds throughout this series.

Special thanks to writer/director Rick Castañeda for creating a comedic series that doesn’t rely upon toilet humor, homophobia, or unresolved Oedipal complexes as a major part of the storyline. Filter out those three aspects from the thousands of off-beat comedies on the Web, and you’re left with a paltry number of videos indeed. “Coma, Period†stands out among those that make the cut. The series chronicles the unique musings of a man in a coma, which involve hallucinations of (tastefully) nude women, a chess-playing fetus, and a mystery door to hell. The show is also well produced by Downtown L.A. production outfit Lead Balloon.

Another one of my favorite web series, created by Payman Benz & Sean Becker of Awkward Pictures. Truly bizarre and original sketch comedy, and some of the best produced material online! I'm also particularly partial to episodes 5, 9 & 10.

You always suspected the IT guys were spying on your emails. But did you ever stop to think they might be professional sadists? Web TV is “the new cable," the place where creators can push the envelope – and “Compulsions†delivers as a slick and suspenseful “Dexter†for the buttoned up pistol-whipping set. You may never call the HELP Desk again.
