Dan Harmon, creator of web video home "Channel 101," is a great inspiration and hero to all the hardworking webisodic producers out there -- he's getting his own series on NBC TV this fall, titled "Community." To promote the show, Harmon created this awesomely faux and funny series of lo-fi web infomercials selling the benefits of enrolling at Greendale Community College. Harmon plays Dr. Pat Isakson, small town professor with awkward body language honed to perfection.... but I like the end tag best of all.

Here’s a great web series that’s a sign of TV to come. As CBS ramps up for its April 9th launch of murder mystery “Harper’s Island,†the network has unveiled a parallel web series, “Harper’s Globe,†which serves as a prequel, a story extension, and a “social show†involving viewers. “Globe†revolves around a young woman who takes a job as online community manager at the island’s local paper (well done), and while digitizing the archives stumbles upon a series of gruesome murders. Clues (and urls) are embedded in the videos (and possibly the digitized archives). Created with the guys behind the hit web series "Lonely Girl" and "KateModern".
