Malcolm X - the Yang to Martin Luther King's Yin - is a controversial iconoclastic figure. There were two Malcom's: the one before his Haj to Mecca, who advocated for a militant separatist afro-nationalism, and the one after, who believed love and peace could unite a racially divided America. In our Obama era, it's good to revisit Malcom's speeches to measure our country's progress and know our history.
