Toots Thielemans on "Night Music"
Music (Live), Other Gems (TV Clip), Viral (Time Capsule)
[ 4:17 - from YouTube ]
Why watch some old Belgian play harmonica on a hilariously dated 1970's music show? Only because he's the greatest jazz harmonica player that ever lived. Toots Thielemans, whose dextrous playing turned the blues harp into a kind of dance, is still alive and jamming at 87 years old. Those who play woodwind instruments will especially appreciate how Thielemans keeps pace with the sax soloist.
